We are seeking an experienced, proactive Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support our legal team. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for someone who can contribute immediately, think critically, and operate independently—not just execute tasks.
This position is ideal for a professional who brings strong judgment, ownership, and the ability to add real value by improving processes and outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Request, track, and follow up on medical records and billing from providers, hospitals, and insurance companies
- Coordinate with medical providers to verify billing details, outstanding balances, and required documentation
- Maintain and update case files, ensuring all records and documentation are accurate and current
- Review medical records and bills for completeness, identifying and flagging any missing or inconsistent information
- Assist with case intake, including initial file setup and documentation organization
- Communicate with clients regarding treatment status and outstanding documentation needs
- Monitor and track deadlines to ensure timely receipt of medical records and billing documents
- Organize and prepare case documentation for demand packages, litigation, and settlement processes
- Provide administrative and case-related support to attorneys, paralegals, and case managersAccurately maintain logs, notes, and updates within case management systems
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury law (required)
- Demonstrated experience in: Medical records retrieval, Medical billing coordination and collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Strong understanding of personal injury case workflows and processes
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet concurrent deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software
- Bilingual in Spanish
